Dr. Lisa Riggioni is a prominent professional with a strong academic background acquired over 10 years of study and practice in the United States, culminating in the completion of a Doctorate in Physical Therapy. She graduated from the University of North Carolina in Greensboro with a Bachelor of Science, from the University of Florida in Gainesville with a Master of Physical Therapy, and from ATSU in Mesa, Arizona, where she earned a Doctorate in Physical Therapy.

Dr. Riggioni specializes in neurological rehabilitation, providing specialized treatments for individuals with neurological disorders.

Her credentials are impressive, as she holds the designation of Certified Neurological Specialist (CNS) awarded by the American Physical Therapy Association (APTA), a prestigious recognition in the field. Ten years after achieving this prestigious certification, she successfully recertified by meeting the demanding requirements of this specialty. It is worth noting that she was one of the first 600 certified neurological specialists in the world.

 

In addition to her certification in Neurodevelopmental Treatment and her specialization in neurological rehabilitation, Dr. Riggioni has over 20 years of experience in treating individuals with neurological disorders. She has worked at renowned medical centers such as the Florida Hospital, the Regional Medical Center in Orlando, and St. John’s Hospital in Springfield, Missouri. Currently, she serves as the director at NeuroFT, the only specialized neurological rehabilitation clinic in Costa Rica.

Dr. Riggioni is an active member of the American Physical Therapy Association, the APTA Orthopedic Section, the APTA Neurology Section, the Neurodevelopmental Treatment Association, the Movement Disorders and Parkinson’s Association (U.S.A.), and the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Costa Rica. She maintains her professional license in the United States by fulfilling annual requirements. Her commitment to staying updated in the field of rehabilitation is reflected in her participation in more than 35 academic courses and conferences both in Costa Rica and abroad.
