Dr. Luis Carlos Sancho Torres
Medical Surgeon and Psychiatry Specialist
In the year 2000, he began his psychopharmacological research studies, including Phase II B studies at his own Mental Research and Development Center, known as CIDEM, located in San Jose, Costa Rica.

In 2006, Dr. Sancho Torres joined forces with Dr. Andrea Mesén Fainardi to establish the TMS Clinic of Costa Rica, becoming pioneers in Latin America in this procedure and accumulating one of the largest case series worldwide.
In February 2010, he founded the Equilibrium Program, dedicated to the treatment of the actively drug-consuming population, which operates at the facilities of the La Católica Hospital. Due to the program’s success and the need for a specialized center for the comprehensive treatment of these patients, Dr. Sancho Torres joined distinguished colleagues as a Founding Partner, leading to the creation of Project Nova, now known as Hara House, a treatment clinic for patients with addiction and neuropsychiatric problems located in San Isidro de Heredia.
Dr. Sancho Torres is an active member of the Costa Rican Psychiatric Association and a founding member of the Neuropsychopharmacology College of Costa Rica. He has also obtained a fellowship in Repetitive Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation at the Mind Care Centre in Vancouver, Canada. He has held important positions such as Founder-Director of the Psychiatry Unit at La Católica Hospital, Co-Director of TMS Costa Rica Clinic, Medical Director of Clinica Forest in Costa Rica, Director of the Substance Abuse Treatment Program ‘Countdown to Recovery’ at Clinica Forest, and Founding Partner of Project Nova (now Hara House).
