At TMS Latin America, we have the most advanced equipment globally in collaboration with the prestigious company Magstim. Our commitment to excellence is backed by the Queen’s Award recognition granted by the Queen of England, as well as our compliance with rigorous ISO 13485:2003 quality standards and certification from the European Community under the medical devices directive.

Furthermore, our treatment is approved by recognized entities such as the FDA and the National Institute of Mental Health (NIMH) in the United States, Health Canada, and the Ministry of Health of Costa Rica. This ensures that we meet the highest standards of safety and efficacy in the application of transcranial magnetic stimulation (TMS).

business history

Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation (TMS) has earned significant credentials and accreditations that endorse its effectiveness and safety as a treatment. In 2008, the FDA (Food and Drug Administration) approved TMS as a treatment for treatment-resistant depression, following extensive research conducted by the National Institutes of Health in the United States (NIH). This approval demonstrates the high-level scientific and medical endorsement behind TMS.

Furthermore, TMS has been endorsed by the International Psychiatric Community and has received approval from the Ministry of Health of Costa Rica. Its international recognition as an effective neurological rehabilitation treatment reaffirms its importance and utility in various health conditions.

In 2015, The Magstim Company LTD, the manufacturer of our equipment, received FDA authorization to market therapy with the Magstim Rapid2 system for the treatment of refractory Major Depression in the United States. This demonstrates the quality and reliability of the equipment we use in our clinic.

Our directors at TMS Costa Rica are highly renowned medical psychiatrists and directors in neurological rehabilitation, with extensive clinical experience in their respective specialties. In addition to their strong medical background, they have been trained in the field of TMS at prestigious institutions such as Harvard and the Mind Care Center clinics in Vancouver, Canada. The establishment of our clinic in 2006 has allowed us to treat over 500 patients exclusively for depression.

It is worth noting that TMS has been successfully used in countries within the European Community, the United States, Canada, Australia, Israel, and several Latin American countries such as Brazil, Argentina, Mexico, and Costa Rica. In these countries, its use has been approved not only for treating depression but also for other psychiatric and neurological disorders. This underscores the versatility and benefits of TMS in various health conditions.
